The department of ECE consists of very Hi-tech labs with highly equipped PC’s for carrying out the practical sessions for the students. The various labs possessed by the department are as under:
Mentor DSP Lab
Mentor-DSP is an easy to use, interactive software tool cum comprehensive learning resource for various signal processing techniques. The software includes real-time features such as sound processing and interface with a specific DSP hardware platform. It is simple, intuitive and straightforward to use, targeted to students in the field of digital signal processing.
OptSim™ is RSoft's award-winning software tool for the design and simulation of optical communication systems at the signal propagation level. With state-of-the-art simulation techniques, an easy-to-use graphical user interface and lab-like measurement instruments, OptSim provides unmatched accuracy and usability. The software has been commercially available since 1998 and is in use by leading engineers in both academic and industrial organizations worldwide.

  • Virtual prototyping of optical communication systems for increased productivity and reduced time to market.
  • Design optimization for enhanced performance and reduced costs.
  • Interfaces with third-party tools such as MATLAB® and the Luna Optical Vector Analyzer.
  • Advanced electrical modeling with embedded SPICE engine.

OptSim is ideally suited for computer-aided design of optical communication systems including, but not limited to:

  • Coherent optical communication systems, such as PM-QPSK, PM-BPSK, PM-QAM, OFDM
  • Advanced modulation formats, such as D(Q)PSK, Duobinary, BPSK, m-PAM, m-QAM, etc.
  • DWDM/CWDM system with optical amplification, such as EDFA, Raman, SOA, OPA
  • FTTx/PON, including BPON, G(E)PON, WDM-PON, coherent PON, RSOA-based bi-directional PON

Qualnet Lab
The QualNet® communications simulation platform (QualNet) is a planning, testing and training tool that "mimics" the behavior of a real communications network. Simulation is a cost-effective method for developing, deploying and managing network-centric systems throughout their entire lifecycle. Users can evaluate the basic behavior of a network, and test combinations of network features that are likely to work. QualNet provides a comprehensive environment for designing protocols, creating and animating network scenarios, and analyzing their performance.

Web development Lab
The aim of the Lab is to give students a good understanding of basic concepts of Web Development and the need of developing web applications. At the end of the labs, the students should understand the need of developing web applications. They should properly able to create their own web applications.

Programming Lab
The aim of this lab is to understand and solve logical & mathematical problems through C , JAVA, .Net and many more languages and flowcharts. Strengthen knowledge of a procedural programming language. Design and develop solutions to intermediate level problems using the C language. Further develop your skills in software development using a procedural language.

The objective of this lab is to make the student to get hands on experience regarding the application of theoretical concepts learnt in this subject. It covers all the SQL Experiments and DDL, DML commands The set of experiments included as part of this lab intend to make the students more practical oriented and also to pave the way for using SQL programming language for real time business applications.

Operating System Lab
The aim of this lab is to guide students about working of different Operating Systems. This lab includes Linux, UNIX, and windows operating systems. With the help of this lab students can learn about working at different operating system platforms.

It is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.
The faculty of M.Tech department published various research papers in national as well as international journals & Conferences.
