CT institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) was established as constituent organization of CT Educational society in Year 2004 with ambition of becoming center of excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences and research in Punjab and Northern India. The institute is affiliated to Punjab Technical University and Approved by Pharmacy Council of India and All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. Recently CTIPS acquired the status of ISO-9001:2008 certification from United Kingdom Accreditation Services, UK. The institute is running a 4 year B. Pharmacy course along with there masters program in pharmacy (M. Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology). Application for two more PG courses (Pharmaceutical Management and Regulatory Affairs and Industrial Pharmacy) is under consideration. The institute is also running three year B.Sc. along with 2 year M.Sc. course in Biotechnology.

RESEARCH FACILITIES

The institute is equipped with required number of laboratories with classrooms. Sophisticated analytical instrument lab is equipped with FT-IR and UV- Spectrophotometers, HPLC, sensitive weighing balances, semi automatic dissolution apparatus, tablet machine, rotary evaporator, cooling centrifuge and others necessary to support the research projects currently in progress estimated worth about one crore. The research facilities are sufficient enough to carry out of M.Pharm, Ph.D and other sponsored research work.

 
 

FACULTY AND SCHOLAR’S CREDENTIALS IN RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS

Twenty two research projects are currently in progress under the supervision of qualified faculty members. Several faculty members have qualified National level competitive tests like GATE and GPAT while few are gold medalist during their academic curriculum. About half of the faculty has acquired Ph.D. degree or pursuing their doctoral research work recognized from different universities at CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Several research papers (Over 40) are in credits of students and faculty members in the journals of national and international repute. Students have been securing university positions among top ten.
 
 

PATENTS
The research outcome of institute having industrial utility and novelity are being processed for patent rights. So far three patents have been filed while three patents filing is under process and number is expected to raise in coming time.

 
 

PRESENTATIONS AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES
PG students have presented their research work at National and International conferences. Three papers were accepted for presentation at APTI organized in month of October 2011 held at ISF Moga. Research papers of PG (Pharmaceutics) have been accepted for presentation in an International Conference to be held at Punjab University Chandigarh.

 

ACADEMIA INDUSTRY COLLABORATION AND INDUSTRY DEFINED SPONSORED RESEARCH PROJECTS
Institute has submitted research proposals to PTU under industry defined projects scheme for research grant and looking into their industrial viability, university has granted funding of INR 40,000 for their completion. Research scholars are working on different research projects in consent with pharmaceutical companies like Ranbaxy laboratories, Divine Pharma (HP), Accums Pharmaceuticals (UK), ,Trojan Pharmaceuticals (Punjab), YDIK Pharma (Gujrat) and AIMIL Pharmaceuticals India Ltd. New Delhi.

 

SEMINARS &  WORKSHOPS ORGANIZED
Institute has successfully organized two National Seminars to provide a platform to exchange ideas among pharmaceutical professional with participant strength over 200 in each. To provide advanced hand on training CTIPS organized a Workshop on Biotechnology and their industrial aspects. Regularly Guest lectures are being organized with subject experts to enrich and update the knowledge of students and faculty. Eminent professor of Punjab Technical University Dr. BS Bhoop recently visited institute and delivered guest lecture highlighting different aspects of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics.

 
 
C.T. Institutes of pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) was started in 2004 and offering Diploma, Degree & Master's in Pharmacy, B.Sc and M.Sc in biotechnology with total strength of approximately 458 students. At bachelor level our college has completed 3 batches successfully with 100% placement at various levels and some of the students perusing higher degrees. At master's level, CTIPS is offering post graduation in Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmaceutics and M.Sc in biotechnology. Currently 39 faculty members are associated with CTIPS, with specialization in concerned subject.
