New Era of Education :

Derby College, UK Joins hands with CT Group of Institutions, India

Today a milestone is created in the field of higher education, when Derby College the largest higher education colleges in UK, signed an MoU with North India’s leading Education provider CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. The validity of this MoU is for next twelve years. Four members delegation that includes Mr. Rafik Safar Director  International Relations Derby college, UK), Mr. Ashok Kalia (ex Mayor Derby City, UK)specially came to India from Derby to sign an MoU with CT Group. Chairman of CT Group S. Charanjit Singh Channi and Mr. Rafik signed MoU on behalf their organizations.

According to this MoU students of India and UK can get the new age higher education which is tailor made for the industry and will satisfy the new challenges arose by the growing economy of India,   which will delivered through special academic modules to be developed by the professionals of these institutes. This is a special endeavor and attempt of Derby College under the Prime Minister’s Initiative (PMI) of UK which is special program to establish strategic relationship with international educational partners for the enhancement of the delivery of higher education. Speaking at the occasion Mr. Rafik Safar told they had 32 applicants from India to choose from and Derby College through its high level panel selected CT Group of Institutions as their first choice. He said “The reason is CT Group is a progressive education provider and having an experience of managing multiple faculty programs that includes Management, Engineering, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Information technology etc.”

He further added that through this MoU students will have access to technology based E -learning with the help of Course Management System (CMS) that lets provide documents grades assignments, quizzes, discussion forums. It will be new experience for students that allow easy and comprehensive way to share resources and interact with the students outside of the class rooms.

Mr. Channi in his address added “This is a new beginning of 21st century education in which concept of globalizations will come into effect. The students will be exposed to new learning methodologies and gain knowledge from the renowned academician of the UK through Video Conferencing and other online tools.

British Prime Minister’s Initiative

Under the British Prime Minister’s Initiative a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the month of November, 2007 between CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar(INDIA) and Derby College, Derby (UK). From CT Group Chairman S. Charanjit Singh Channi along with Managing Director Mr. Manbir Singh and From Derby College Mr. Rafik Sfar International Director, signed MoU on behalf of their organizations. This understanding is first of its kind in the Northern India in which delegations from the both the side will be interacting and exchanging their expertise to develop a joint curriculum in the fields of Leadership, Management and Entrepreneurship.

In continuation of the same MoU under British PMI Project the three member team from Derby, College, Derby visited CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. Three members Ms. Lynn, Ms. Rosy, Mr. Oliver came to train 30 students for the moodle software who have been selected for the pilot phase of this project. These trained students will use the courses which are jointly developed by the Experts of Derby College and CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. The Team of experts will monitor and record the change in the confidence, motivation and discipline in these students after successfully completing the course. Changes shall be made after the feedback of these courses. It is very unique where students are involved in planning and developing the course for them in accordance to their requirement.

Addressing to media persons, the Derby Delegates said “These E-Learning courses would add values to existing professional courses of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Retail, Insurance and many others. The students will be ready for the placement process and will handle corporate culture and work pressure. For the first phase we have developed initial online course using Moodle. The course contains:

Ø      Forums and Chats

Ø      Quizzes and questionnaires

Ø      RSS Feeds

The module is divided into four topic areas:

Ø      Organisational Communication

Ø      Stress Management

Ø      Time Management

Ø      Training and Development

This has been mutually decided by both the teams after thoughtful discussion that E-Learning project will add value to the present delivery of teaching methodology and shall be used to enhance the effectiveness of content delivery system by blended learning(e-learning, face-to-face, self study, work experience). “

Director), Prof. Rajan Sharma, Mr. Hardeep Singh along with Capt. Inderjit Singh Dhami (Asst. Director Youth Services (Punjab)) gave information about the project.

 

  CT Group of Institutions signed an agreement with ESC Rouen, France

CT Group of Institutions, which is running Engineering, Management & IT, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism courses made his international presence when CT Group of Institutions signed an agreement with France’s ESC Rouen for Student Exchange Program. The purpose of this agreement is a desire to provide their students with a curriculum which includes a learning experience in an overseas environment and to share common mission to provide highest quality education. This agreement was signed in France for which Mr. Manbir Singh Managing Director of CT Group was specially invited by ESC Rouen.

According to this agreement, students studying at CT Group of Institutions will go to France (Rouen) at ESC Rouen for a specific time for study and the students of ESC Rouen will come to Jalandhar (India) at CT Group of Institutions for their study. Each year during the duration of this agreement, each institution may send upto four graduate and under graduate  level students to be enrolled at the host institutions for one academic semester; or two graduate and under graduate level students to be enrolled as exchange students for one academic year.  Students from both the institutions will register in their institutions of origin, but will enjoy all the privileges accorded to students at the host institution.

 There shall be no extra charges for exchange. Students will pay normal tuitions fee to their home institutions. They may be required to pay certain ancillary fee for health services, Library Fee etc. The students’ participants of this exchange program will be responsible for living and travel expenses. This agreement will provide opportunity for students for getting International study by paying normal fee only.
